FAQ

When is your next book coming out?

Ghost of All Gypsy Magic is set for release in October of this year (2017)! And book five will be available in January of 2018.

Who is your favorite author?

This is such a difficult question! The reason that I wanted to become a writer is V.C. Andrews. I remember reading the Flowers in the Attic series when I was about 11 years old and from that moment on, I wanted to be a writer.

Some other favorites are Tess Gerritsen, Maria V. Snyder, Stephen King, and Martha Hall Kelly. There are probably a dozen more, but those are the first to come to mind.

What is your favorite aspect of writing?

I think that my favorite aspect of writing is creating characters and worlds that I can get emotionally invested in. If I can't love my heroes/heroines or loathe my villains/villainesses then I can't expect readers to care about them. I've had a million book boyfriends over the course of my life and wished that I was on that journey, in that world, right alongside my favorite characters no matter where they fell on the spectrum of good and evil. I hope that with my writing, I give a little piece of that back to my own readers.

Who is your favorite character from The Guardian of the Arcanos series (and why)?

Another tough question!

I love Effie because you really get to see her grow throughout the series. She starts out as this quiet, meek, uncertain, damsel in distress. But, as the series goes along, she really transforms into a powerful, confident, strong person. Suddenly, instead of the one being saved, she's the one doing the saving. And she still has trouble balancing her fate with her heart. I think that makes her very easy to relate to.

I also love Reyovar. He's a bit of an anti-hero. He's not really a villain, though he could certainly be seen that way. He's strong, self-assured, and powerful. But as hard as he tries to remain impassive when it comes to Effie and the Arcani, his heart shows through that tough-guy facade.

I guess no list of characters I love can be complete without Hink. He's one of the most truly selfless characters in the story. Not only did he give up his own family and his dream of loving Effie, the family that he envisioned them having together, but he puts his life on the line every day to protect his people. He chose a life of solitude so that Effie wouldn't have to.

And of course Foster because ... Foster.
